Today, we had breakfast at Café Casa Olive, a shop recommended to us by one of the locals. There, we got a melon wrapped prosciutto with short-bread type biscuits, and more espresso, which was a little strong for us. We then left the Amalfi Coast and started our journey to the city of Capri. Capri is a city in the bay of Naples and is on an island so we would have to take a ferry to get to. Next, we boarded the ferry and it sped across the sea to our destination. Once we arrived, we spent a good bit of time looking around at the amazing attractions and listening to live music
(CULTURE). The songs were all in Italian, so we didn't understand them. The tunes were still fun to listen to though. After that, we had scheduled for a kayaking tour of the Blue Grotto
(NATURAL ENVIRONMENT) that we couldn't miss. The Blue Grotto is a sea cave that is on the edge of the island. Sunlight going in it creates a blue reflection that is breathtaking. Our guide walked us through the safety features of the kayaks, then we got ready to go. We strapped on our life jacket, picked our kayaks and lowered ourselves into the warm Mediterranean Sea. Most of us had never been in a kayak before, but we attempted the best we could to follow the guide through the winding passages of the Blue Grotto. Once we were deep enough in, the guide told us to do something surprising. He told us to get out of our kayaks! We all followed orders and jumped out, plunging into the water below. We could not reach the water below us but we knew there was something there, as we could feel things rubbing against us and swimming past. As we were in the cave, Luke thought he saw something big moving around under us. We all dove under and looked to see what he was pointing at, a giant sea turtle.

In the blue light, the turtle almost looked majestic as it swam beneath the waves. Luke reached out to touch it, but it immediately darted away. Our tour ended soon after, and we made our way back to the main island to dry ourselves off. By then, it was four o'clock and we realized we had all skipped lunch. We were having so much fun with the turtle and the kayaks, we didn't realize how late it was.
We checked into our hotel, Villa Calypso, and changed clothes to something more appropriate for dinner. Then, we left to go to the Zodiac restaurant across town. The Zodiac is a restaurant in Capri that specializes in seafood and dinner on the docks. The seafood that was freshly caught was exquisite and we all had a nice time on the docks watching the sunset. We could see the Blue Grotto from there and it was amazing to see the evening sun reflect off the blue waters.
